One Size Fits All: The Age of Leading in Style

At Big Pixel we have talked about the styles of leadership with many of today's tech behemoths.

We have analyzed the motivation behind certain work flows and have at the end, come to the conclusion, leadership is not a one size fits all endeavor, nor is success.

Leadership styles, temperament and long term strategy can all look different but at their core, are there fundamental truths guiding them?

Is there one golden pillar that all leaders can adhere to that will guide them toward success?

Maybe not. But this blog is pretty neat and will give you lots of ideas on how to be a great leader, read on…

Goal Glory

The glory of reaching the goal of success doesn't come overnight.

The cornerstone of engaging and effective leadership firstly comes from painting the picture for your team. The picture of what success looks like in the end and weaving the tale of how to achieve that glory step by step and with systematic decision making across the board.

How you reach that goal, how you manage your team throughout the trials and tribulations to obtain that goal, well that's on you as the LEADER. The point of firstly laying that clear and concise groundwork for your team to then step up, synthesize the information and do what they do best, lead you to glory. That is the first ingredient to leading with style.

Flipping the Paradigm

Being surrounded with individuals that perceive and react to information and sensory stimuli differently than others can be a true asset for many leaders and workplace cultures

Neuro-divergence can be a sticky situation when it comes to leading groups of people in the modern age of business.

But why?

Flip the paradigm on its head and let those differences work for you.

As a leader, do what you do best. Find the right people, with the right skills and place them in a situation where they can collectively create a holistic view of the problem or success that lay ahead and allow the diverging reactions to inform you more fully.

Knowledge is power and having varied views and approaches can only help the opportunity for success in the long term. It all depends on the LEADER’s aptitude for bringing their team together toward that common goal effectively.

Patience is a Virtue

Leadership is not without its virtues and patience is the hardest won of all.

Multi million dollar success does NOT come overnight, unless perhaps you're a Tik Tok star during the pandemic, but I digress.

As a leader, your success will be varied and the length of your career could be upwards of 30-50 years. Are you killing it in your field for that long? Even Wheaties brand needed time for a rest and reset.

Being a leader means having patience through the slog, guiding your team through the inevitable highs, and supporting them through what are to be the lows. Always hold steadfast to the vision and plan you hold for your team's success!

There is no one size fits all remedy for working hard toward success. We told you that from the start - BUT a true and effective leader, one with grace, patience, a great team and a GREAT idea can prove to be a formidable train chugging along its track toward STARTUP SUCCESS.

Go forth and LEAD!
